First part to centre on a character other than Black Hawk.
Battak's species mature in a hive.
He worries for his lost soul. Battak pushes him off a cliff, but Blackhawk grabs the insect's foot.
In the hive where he matured, they called him Battak the Merciless. Aboard the stadium, the called him Battak the killer. His death-dive only failed him once and he has vowed that it will never fail him again. He fights and eats a scavenger that attacks them. When Zog is kidnapped, Battak suggests abandoning him to his fate, but the others overrule him. While Ursa is rescuing Zog, Battak pushes Blackhawk off a cliff, but the human grabs the insect's foot.
The scavengers kidnap him. Ursa finds him in a cave.
He finds Zog in a cave.
Two. Blackhawk and Battak kill one scavenger each.
Battak: "Zog yourself, dwarf!"
Blackhawk: "They have had enough! They turn tail - They flee!"
Zog says his name four times and thinks it once, Ursa says "Hokey-Dokey!" and "Yaar!"

It's nice to see things from Battak's perspective for a change, but somewhat sad that it is something of a necessity, since we are slowly losing our leading man.
